Sleddog Racing

For the past 15 years I have competed in the thrilling sport of sleddog racing.

Over these years I have raced my dogs throughout Europe, from the remote tundra of northern Norway and Sweden to the sun soaked slopes of the Pyrennes, my team has taken me on many compelling adventures.  I have claimed the World and European Champions title on two occasions and in doing so have been privileged to own some fantastically talented dogs. Most of them I've bred myself, through selection and extensive research.

We have competed in a vast range of races, from Dryland sprint races to two week stage races, through warm and dry Scottish forests to wind blown blizzards in sub zero temperatures. This with the same dogs, proves their immense versatility and athleticism. On this page you can keep up with our racing schedule and read news from our trips away. The range of photos enables you to appreciate our adventures and perhaps sows a seed of thought in your mind, come and join me in training and experience the thrill of the chase for yourself.

We are extremely fortunate to be supported by CSJ who provide the nutritional expertise required to keep working dogs in top condition. We have been using their food for some time now and are extremely happy with the results. More energy, healthier coats and better overall health in all the dogs compared with previous 'top end' quality dog food. I would advise anyone with working dogs to give their food a try www.csjk9.co.uk

The summer months are our time to return to some form of normality. The hectic schedule of training the team and going out to work is not so intense. The dogs enjoy lazy days around the farm and free running down in the valley where they can swim and chase a ball. When September arrives then training for the 2011/12 season will begin in earnest. Firstly by developing muscle and endurance in the dogs as we run greater distances up in the forest, loose and chasing the 4 wheeler (quad bike). Then we form the team and use the 4 wheeler as weight for them to pull. As winter arrives so does the racing season. This winter we will be returning to our roots and racing a full season in Scotland, for the first time in many years.
